ECC EUGLOH Cultural Corridor - Guided tour: Discover the History of the Private Society that Rescued the University of Alcalá

The tour will be starting at the entrance of the ancient residence for the students of the University. Firstly, the tour will take the visitors for a walk at the main patio of the residence, showing the medieval structure of the building, it's different poupouses and the innovations that it brought to the methodology that was used for teaching in the medieval times. As follows, the tour will guide the visitors through the room dedicated to the history of the private society (Sociedad de Condueños) that bought the University to rescue it from the processes of dismantlement promoted by the Government. In this part of the tour, the visitors will discover how the process of retrieving the University to its original place and reopening its doors for students, brought a whole new context of development to the city of Alcalá de Henares and how it managed to be a reference in the preservation of cultural heritage, memories and social history as it is nowadays.
