The "Carbon cycle, carbon capture and storage" workshop aims to provide an introductory understanding of the carbon cycle and its importance in mitigating climate change. It is aimed at physics undergraduates.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about carbon cycle modeling and the various tools and techniques used to measure, predict and analyze carbon fluxes. Additionally, carbon capture technologies will be discussed, as well as their potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Theoretical lectures will take place in the morning and will be open to remote participants from all EUGLOH partners Universities, while the practical sessions in the afternoon will be open to on-site selected candidates from the Paris Saclay University only. These will take place at Paris-Saclay University, and consist in a student project related to carbon cycle understanding, modeling, or on carbon capture and storage solutions.

Selection of candidates will be based on pre-requisites in physics, environmental science and on motivation. For online participation, undergraduate students will be prioritized. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance. On-site participants from Paris-Saclay University (Basic Physics Curriculum) will have the opportunity to receive 2.5 ECTS.
