BUILDING EUROPE'S CAMPUS FOR GLOBAL HEALTH
Team up with teachers from other EUGLOH partners and apply for funding to develop either a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), a new EUGLOH course or even a new joint programme.
What initiatives can be supported?
The learning activity must have an interdisciplinary or crossdisciplinary focus and have a relevance to society and global health, in a broad sense. The pedagogical methods used have to be student centered, innovative and fit for the purpose. The learning activity should help the students to develop their transversal skills, as defined in the EUGLOH Competences Framework. All teams must have teachers from at least two EUGLOH partners (in the case of a joint programme; at least three partners).
How to apply for funding
There are three possible categories under which you can apply for funding (see below). Under the description of each of these categories you will find the templates. Please, note that signatures are needed from the heads of departments (or dean, vice rector or other authorised level) at all the institutions involved, as well as the signatures from the participating teachers.
The next deadline for applications is 1 February 2025 23:59 CET. The proposals have to be sent by e-mail to the local EUGLOH offices of the partners involved. The local EUGLOH offices will make a preliminary assessment of the proposals and might ask for revisions. Feel free to reach out to the EUGLOH officers at your university before the deadline to get support. Find contact information here.
The calls are recurring and the following deadline will be 1 October 2025.
Selection, monitoring and implementation of the projects
Applications will be carefully reviewed and the results of the call will be communicated in April 2025. A brief progress report (1 page) on the state of all seed-funded projects is requested four months after they have been selected. A final report is required at the completion of the project about its implementation, the challenges faced during the co-creation process, and the next actions that will be taken.
The courses, COILs and programmes developed with the EUGLOH funding do not have to start running during the current year.
Instructions about how the funding can be used and the financial reporting will be provided by the respective institutions involved in the approved proposals.
How to find teachers for collaboration
Make use of the EUGLOH Visiting Guest Lecturer Programme to find teachers at the other EUGLOH partner universities to collaborate with. You can also use the Padlet page that we have created for this purpose.
More information
For general questions about the call, please contact the EUGLOH team at Lund University.
Join us for a webinar on 2 December 14:00-15:00 CET to learn more about the programme and ask your questions. The webinar will be recorded an made available on the EUGLOH YouTube chanel.
Seed Money for Developing Courses
Up to €15,000 per course (split between collaborating partners) may be requested to develop a course. In the upcoming call, up to four courses will be selected to receive seed money. Only virtual courses or courses that run as Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) will be supported. Any courses developed through this seed money programme should ultimately be offered to EUGLOH students as part of the EUGLOH Courses and Training Opportunities or held as a BIP.
CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY:
- At least two different partner universities must be involved in the creation of a course according to EUGLOH regulations. Teachers from additional partners can be involved in the course later as guest teachers. If you will make this course a BIP, a minimum of three partner universities is required by the European Commission.
- The funding is intended for staff costs and meetings to develop the course, not necessarily to run it.
- Any courses that are developed will be offered to all EUGLOH students via EUGLOH’s Courses and Training opportunities platform. The course does not have to start running the current year.
- The developers of a course must plan on being able to offer the course multiple times.
- The course should help students develop their transversal skills (see EUGLOH Competences Framework).
- The course should have an interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary approach and the relevancy of the course to society and global health, in a broad sense, must be clear.
- The pedagogical methods must be student-centred, innovative and fit for purpose.
- The course should be credit bearing and worth between 3 and 7 ECTS and run at either Bachelor or Master level.
- The courses should be designed to have 50 or more students participating.
The template for proposing the development of a course can be downloaded here.
Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)
A COIL is a common virtual component of two existing courses in which students collaborate. Up to €10,000 per COIL (split between the collaborating partners) may be requested to develop it. In the upcoming call, up to two COILs will be selected to receive seed money.
The template for proposing the development of a COIL can be downloaded here.
CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY:
- Two different partner universities must be involved in the creation of a COIL.
- The funding is for developing the COIL. Running the COIL will within the regular course budget.
- The COIL should help students develop their transversal skills (see EUGLOH Competences Framework).
- The COIL should have an interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary approach and the relevancy of the course to society and global health, in a broad sense, must be clear.
- The COIL must make use of existing courses at Bachelor or Master level. Each partner will be doing the examination of their own students and follow their local syllabuses.
- The pedagogical methods must be student-centred, innovative and fit for purpose.
- The workload of the COIL should correspond to between 2 and 4 ECTS.
- The COIL should involve a total of 30 or more students welcomed from all partner universities.
Seed Money for Developing Programmes
Seed money would fund a complete Master’s Programme. The joint programme can be developed with the intention of applying for an Erasmus Mundus Joint Programme, but this is not a requirement. Up to €50,000 per programme (split between collaborating partners) may be requested to develop it. In the upcoming call, up to two programmes will be selected to receive seed money.
CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY:
- At least three EUGLOH partners must be involved in developing the programme. One or several partners from outside the Alliance can be included as well. One of the EUGLOH partners will take it upon itself to be the coordinating partner of the programme.
- The funding is intended for costs for staff and meetings to develop the program at to prepare and application for funding from the Erasmus Mundus program, or other resources.
- The programme should help students develop their transversal skills (see EUGLOH Competences Framework).
- The programme should have an interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary approach and the relevance of the programme to society and global health, in a broad sense, must be clear.
- The pedagogical methods must be student-centred, innovative and fit for purpose. The fact that at least three partners are involved in the programme does not necessarily mean that the students must move around between three cities. With online components and teacher mobility, the students can still benefit from the expertise of the universities without having to travel.
- The master programme should be worth between 60 and 120 ECTS .
- The subject of the programme should be new or have an innovative angle, and the application should be able to show that there is demand for the programme from students and employers.
