This is an online course, hosted by the University of Novi Sad. The course aims at developing and improving students’ knowledge and awareness of importance of Climate Action. The whole content of the course is adapted to the needs of the professional and live environment of 21st century. Special attention is paid to the importance of health and wellbeing, at individual and population level, combating climate change by raising awareness and increasing climate action. Participants who finish the course will gain 3 ECTS

The course is divided into four sections that will be carried out on 9, 16, 23 and 30 March, 2024. Each section includes:

  • Introduction (2 hours).
  • In-class activities (3 hours).
  • Home assignment (3 hours).

In total 32 hours. In-class activities include setting theoretical framework, discussions and interactive work groups (tasks and students’ practical exercises).

The sessions are as follows:

  • 1st session:

  • Introduction on: Climate Change and Public Health.
  • Introduction on: Climate Change and Individual Health.
  • Interactive session on some examples, research and activities in the line of Public Health approach.
  • 2nd session:

  • Introduction on: Climate Change in the focus of One Health, Global Health, Planetary Health.
  • Introduction on: Climate Action towards strengthening Health.
  • 3rd session:

  • Introduction on: Climate Action examples (individual level and community level).
  • Interactive session on some examples, research results.
  • 4th session:

  • Introduction on: Climate Action and behaviour changes.
  • Interactive session on some examples, research and projects. Exchange of ideas and individual attitudes.

Home assignment on some of the topics according of the students interest and oral presentations later on will be obligatory part of the course.

Learning objectives

The course aims at developing and improving students’ knowledge and awareness of importance of Climate Action. Students will be able to understand connection among Public Health, One Health approach, as well as Global Health and Planetary Health.

Requirements

This program is intended for students who have a bachelor degree, interested in the topic, and in learning about climate action and health isshues due to climate change.

  • Selection strategy: The first 50 applicants, equally distributed among partners, will be accepted for the course.
  • Number of participants: 50.
  • Certificate/ECTS: 3 ECTS.
  • Language: English.
