Higher education across Europe is rapidly changing, with deep technological and structural changes affecting teaching and learning. Universities’ actions within the knowledge “square” ( Education, Research, Innovation and with Civil Society) contribute to their role as key actors in Europe, able to address big societal challenges and become true engines of development for cities, regions and countries. The European Universities are “transnational alliances that will become the Universities of the future, promoting European values and identity, revolutionising the quality and competitiveness of European higher education”(EC, European Universities Factsheet, 2019).

The European Universities Initiative aims to bring together students, academics and external partners to show that interdisciplinary teams are able to cooperate in order to tackle the biggest issues Europe is facing today. In this session, speakers will discuss how EUGLOH can better the engagement with external partners and build higher education ecosystems connected with the surrounding communities.
