With the prestigious Arctic Frontiers 2024 Conference taking place on January 29, in Tromsø, the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (Versailles - UPSaclay) is taking the lead in piloting and organizing a EUGLOH side event focused on finding solutions for One Health Issues in Europe and the Arctic.
This round table will delve into the pressing One Health Issues, which have emerged as a central concern in both Europe and the Arctic, surpassing social, economic, and political boundaries. They will cover subjects such as how The recent COVID crisis has highlighted the interconnected nature of health challenges, intertwining with issues of identity, climate justice, and intercultural exchange, or how Higher Education Institutions play a pivotal role in addressing these global challenges, of which EUGLOH stands at the forefront of tackling Global Health Issues.
In collaboration with the University of Paris-Saclay, other EUGLOH partners, including UiT The Arctic University of Norway, the University of Porto, and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, will contribute with their insights and perspectives to this collective matter.
About the speakers
The distinguished panel of speakers for the EUGLOH side event includes, among others, fours speakers representing the Alliance's partner universities. Dag Rune Olsen, serving as the Rector at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. Arja Rautio, a Professor at the University of Oulu. Henrique Barros, a Professor at the University of Porto. Katja Radon, Professor at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, and Elisabeth Delaroque-Astagneau, holding also a Professor position at UVSQ/University Paris-Saclay, France.
