What precedes an idea? How can trust be established in a co-creative setting? These questions, coupled with intensive, playful teamwork and an authentic Arctic winter experience, will be explored in Tromsø's Idea Camp. The workshop aims to equip students with human-centered, ludic/playful methodologies and mindsets, fostering innovative thinking, problem-solving, and the generation of new ideas and solutions.

This event will take place both virtually and physically. The virtual component, scheduled for January 24, 2024, will be an online masterclass featuring a case of ludic/playful innovation for patients with anorexia. In the physical aspect, from February 7th to 9th, students will immerse themselves in the needs and experiences of volunteers and/or users at Vardesenteret in Tromsø — a meeting place for cancer patients and their next of kin. This will serve as a starting point for the development of new ideas.

About the speaker

Led by Gerd Berge, Associate Professor in Medical Biology at UiT, this course is co-taught by Bruno Giesteira, Professor with habilitation in the Design department at the University of Porto, and Dr. Viviane Peçaibes, Researcher at ID+, HEAD – Health + Design Lab, where Giesteira serves as a coordinator.
