Flying, or rather flying less, has been in the public debate for the last couple of years. In order to reduce emissions and keep the global temperature rise below 1.5 degrees, researchers and climate activists have argued that the transition to more sustainable ways of traveling needs to happen now. Today, a global pandemic has substantially changed the practices and perceptions around mobility and traveling – but what does the future hold?

Welcome to a conversation on the future of traveling, in the light of both the climate crisis and the coronavirus pandemic with Maja Rosén, climate activist and the co-founder of the organisation We Stay on the Ground and the Flight Free campaign, and Sara Ullström, PhD candidate in Sustainability Science at Lund University, studying the staying on the ground phenomenon in Sweden. The conversation is moderated by Roger Hildingsson, researcher in Political Science, Lund University.
