Five universities bundle their competencies and strengths in EUGLOH, conveying also values such as equal opportunities and inclusion. Additionally with the EUGLOHRIA project, the universities have secured funding in the EU research and innovation program Horizon 2020. “Our vision is to train future generations of European experts in the field of global health,” explains Philipp Beck, EUGLOH coordinator at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.

The corona pandemic was initially a severe blow to the planned mobility programmes. When switching to digital teaching methods, however, the synergy effects in the cooperation between the five universities quickly became apparent: Five EUGLOH teams worked on answers to the corona pandemic as part of the #EUvsVirus Hackathon. Around 900 interested people took part in the first joint online courses and meetings. And two summer schools with 500 students have already taken place.
