Having joined EUGLOH in 2022, Macarena is in charge of co-managing EUGLOH Campus Life (WP5 – EUGLOH 2.0 project) as well as contributing to the Alliance’s communication strategy, and disseminating EUGLOH actions at UPSaclay. Could you share a brief overview of your role and responsibilities within the Alliance?
I work as the EUGLOH Local Communication and Campus Life Officer at Université Paris-Saclay. I’m in charge of co-managing EUGLOH Campus Life (WP5 – EUGLOH 2.0 project) as well as contributing to the Alliance’s communication strategy, and disseminating EUGLOH actions at UPSaclay.
How long have you been associated with EUGLOH?
I started working for EUGLOH in November 2022 as an intern at the EUGLOH Secretariat and officially assumed my current role of Officer in April 2023.
How has being part of EUGLOH influenced your personal and/or professional growth?
Being part of the Alliance and engaging with its nine partner universities has profoundly shaped my personal and professional growth. The collaborative environment, diverse perspectives, and international network have expanded my horizon and deepened my understanding of challenges in European higher education, enhancing my intercultural and transdisciplinary skills.
What has been your favourite experience or moment within EUGLOH so far?
My favourite experience was participating in a Staff Week in Porto designed for Communication Officers from the nine universities, being able to train in key communication topics for a whole week. The topics and the group dynamics not only allowed me to improve my communication skills, but also to get to know and create a strong bond with my colleagues.

From your perspective, why is EUGLOH important?
EUGLOH provides a unique platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange among nine top universities, fostering diverse perspectives and innovative solutions to address challenges in higher education. Additionally, EUGLOH's emphasis on transdisciplinarity and intercultural understanding equips individuals with skills that are crucial for navigating today's globalized world. EUGLOH's importance lies in its ability to cultivate a collaborative and forward-thinking community dedicated to advancing higher education on a European scale.
