There are eight different levels of courses in Swedish at Lund University. Learning outcomes start with knowledge and understanding for a few simple grammatical structures and sentence patterns in a learnt repertoire describe in English and some basic features of Swedish pronunciation. Students should also be able to describe (in Swedish) a few cultural aspects of Swedish society e.g. some customs and elements of everyday life. Students should also be able to show their competence and skills interact with reasonable ease in structured situations and short conversations provided the other person helps if necessary use simple connectors to write short, basic descriptions of events, earlier activities and personal experiences understand clearly articulated standard language about familiar areas, provided that clarifications can be requested if necessary understand and summarise short, simple texts about familiar, concrete matters consisting of high frequency everyday and study-related language . As students advance in the different levels, the difficluty and outcomes will advance as well resulting in a fluent Swedish speaker.
