The strengths of the University lie in its highly developed scientific infrastructure of about 250 laboratories, strong innovative potential, as well as in several nationally accredited centres of excellence (Vibro-Acoustic Systems and Signal Processing; Mathematical Research of Non-Linear Phenomena; Reproductive Endocrinology and Signalling; Vector-borne Diseases and Effects of Climate Changes within the One Health Concept; Identification Technology). With strong emphasis on research and innovation, especially notable in this respect is the University’s BioSense Institute, a pioneer in the digital transformation of agriculture in Serbia and a leading European Centre of scientific excellence in sustainable agriculture. No less closely and importantly linked to the University’s research, education and innovation potential is its Science and Technology Park, located on the central campus. It provides support to start-up companies and teams as well as research and development institutes in commercializing innovative products and services and implementing the development of new technologies.
The university boasts a strong and accomplished team of researchers with expertise across various disciplines, including but not limited to science and technology (computer science, information technology, artificial intelligence, robotics, bioinformatics, environmental sciences, and life sciences), agricultural sciences (food technology, agriculture and forestry), social sciences and humanities (hospitality and tourism management, psychology, education, sports sciences) and others.
