BUILDING EUROPE’S CAMPUS FOR GLOBAL HEALTH

European Student Card (eduTAP)

The eduTAP project supports the European Education Area and Erasmus Without Papers by working towards the implementation a fully digital solution to the European Student Card challenge.

The goal is to facilitate mobilities and exchanges in Europe, while offering a way for educational institutions to smoothly manage their card and login systems in the long run by replacing physical cards with a smartphone digital wallet.

The collaboration for this initiative began during EUGLOH’s pilot phase (2019-2022) as a collaboration between the IT experts from the original five EUGLOH partner universities. Since then, the project has been expanded to all 9 current university partners and involves 3 private companies as well, as they are crucial to the future success of this innovative solution.

Since an integrated campus and seamless mobility are at the core of the EUGLOH Alliance, a European Student card providing a smoother mobility experience becomes crucial, and fits within the vision of the European Student Card Initiative (ESC).

Through immediate access to on-site services via a common ID pass or a dedicated service pass provided by the HEI or local Service Provider, students and staff can access all services at their home institution or any participating host institution while traveling. eduTAP not only improves the comfort level of participants in mobility programmes but also strives to enhance European identity and digital transformation.

Since all EUGLOH universities have additional partnerships with other Erasmus universities and global partners, mobility to any participating institution will be like visiting a remote campus of one's own university. Attracting students and scientists to visit eduTAP-enabled campuses helps promote European universities and contributes to retaining the best minds within our institutions.

At the European level, the European Student Card Initiative is an essential part of the European Education Area and Erasmus+, as eduTAP will contribute to the realisation of this ambitious vision.
