Communicating Global Health 2026
Munich, Germany

This is a three-day block in-person seminar hosted by LMU Munich. Students will have the opportunity to develop skills in areas such as intercultural and interdisciplinary communication skills, together with presentation skills, thanks to interactive workshops, participation in the Global Health Days and team-building activities at LMU. Students will receive 2 ECTS upon completion of the course.
By the end of the course students should be able to:
- Understand the concept of culture and its impact on communication.
- Gain the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Identify and reduce barriers to intercultural communication.
- Develop the ability to structure and organise effective presentations.
- Deliver persuasive and informative presentations.
- Understand the importance of teamwork and collaboration in various settings.
- Identify and leverage the strengths of team members.
- Apply effective communication and conflict resolution skills within a team.
Preliminary Programme
Day 1:
- Morning: Intro & Ice-breaker, presentation skills workshop
- Afternoon: Case-based learning
Day 2:
- Morning: Intercultural communication workshop
- Afternoon: Global Health Day workshops, talks and task, Poster presentation viewing and evaluation
Day 3:
- Morning: Global Health Day workshops, talks and task, preparation for group presentations
- Afternoon: Group presentation and reflection
Requirements
- Target Group: Master and PhD and students in their in their 7th semester or higher in undergraduate programmes longer than 6 semesters
- Selection strategy: Based on motivation with preference given to participants of EUGLOH Certificate of Advanced Studies in Global Health
- Number of participants: 30 (3-4 per partner university)
- Certificate/ECTS: 2 ECTS
- Language: English
Please note that a scholarship for travel and subsistence is included for participants.
We will be supported by 2 lecturers: Raquel Lázaro& Ángel GARCÍA MORALES from the University of Alcalá.
