The EUGLOH 3-minute PhD Pitch activity we are proposing is targeted to Ph.D. students from EUGLOH universities and will be held at the University of U.Porto, co-created with UAH and LMU.

- The EUGLOH 3-minute PhD Pitch activity aims to enhance public communication skills and showcase research.

- It is an inter-university event designed to improve campus life and promote academic and sociocultural integration among students from partner universities.

- Participants will have the opportunity to practice speaking in front of an audience, think creatively, and explain complex ideas clearly – essential skills for academic and professional success.

- The EUGLOH 3-minute PhD Pitch activity is a great chance to connect with other Ph.D. students, share your research, and explore new mobility destinations.

Content and Methodology

This activity provides students with the chance to enhance their public communication and engagement skills, helping them develop transferable skills essential in both academic and non-academic settings. These skills include creative thinking, public speaking, and articulating complex ideas in a clear and understandable way. It also serves as an opportunity for Ph.D. candidates to connect, build relationships, and discuss their research.

This activity will contribute to diversifying the campus life offered for Ph.D. students, while promoting their academic and sociocultural integration and disseminating partner universities, as a mobility destination.

2 Ph.D. students are selected/nominated to represent their university in the activity (following a selection criterion defined locally by each university).

Who can apply?

PhD students from any scientific field.

PhD students must be proficient in English, as all activities will be conducted in English.

PhD students must be motivated to participate in the activity.

Partner Universities will apply specific selection criteria in addition to the ones here indicated.

For this action, we foresee the following aspects:

- 3 Activity Days

- Target group: 18 Ph.D. students, in all scientific areas

- 5 Jury members (from the EUGLOH Universities).

This activity will contribute to diversifying the campus life offered for Ph.D. students, while promoting their academic and sociocultural integration and disseminating partner universities, as a mobility destination.

This activity is designed for PhD students from EUGLOH universities, who will be awarded a certificate of attendance.
