Interested in tackling real-world sustainability challenges? Join us and turn ideas into impact in just 15 hours!

This Social and Environmental Entrepreneurship Business Case will bring together students from diverse disciplines to tackle real-world sustainability challenges posed by NGOs, businesses, and public entities.

Over 15 hours, participants—supported by facilitators and mentors—will form multidisciplinary teams, apply creative methodologies (Design Thinking, Lean Startup, prototyping), and develop viable solutions that integrate social and environmental impact with economic feasibility.

The event combines training (creative workshops and methodological sessions) with real-world problem-solving and culminates in a Demo Day, where teams will present their proposals to a jury of external stakeholders.

The expected impact at the individual level includes improved skills in teamwork, empathy, rapid ideation, sustainable design, and engagement with real-world stakeholders. Successful proposals could evolve into real-world projects that address local social or environmental problems, contributing to community well-being and sustainable development.

By uniting academia, industry, and social actors, the hackathon embodies EUGLOH's values of innovation, global public health, and sustainable development. The activity will offer 2 ECTS credits.

The activity will offer 2 ECTS.

Content and Methodology

External stakeholders include social and environmental NGOs, small and medium-sized enterprises committed to sustainability, public authorities or regional environmental agencies, and private companies within the local business corridor. These organizations will present real-world challenges related to social and environmental sustainability and will act as mentors, evaluators, or potential implementers of the proposed solutions.
