Future-Proofing Higher Education: Innovation and Collaboration in Teaching and Learning Across Borders
On 27 - 29 May 2026, the 1st EUGLOH Conference on Pedagogical Development will bring together staff involved in teaching from European university alliances to share innovative practices and reflect on the future of teaching and learning in transnational higher education.The aim is to promot pedagogical innovation and the professional development of academic staff.
Conference themes (not limited to)
- Digital Innovation for International Collaboration in Teaching
Exploring how technology and digital tools foster collaboration across borders and disciplines.
Possible topics include: COILs (Collaborative Online International Learning) and joint teaching initiatives; Digital, blended, and hybrid pedagogies; Virtual mobility and transnational learning spaces; Learning analytics and data-informed teaching
- Meaningful Curricular Design and Assessment in the Age of AI
Rethinking course design, evaluation, and learning outcomes in a rapidly changing educational landscape.
Possible topics include: Assessment and feedback strategies; Integrating AI and digital competence into the curriculum; Designing transnational and interdisciplinary programmes; The European Degree and joint programme initiatives
- Learner-Centered Pedagogies for Global Citizens
Promoting active, inclusive, and transformative learning experiences that prepare students for global challenges.
Possible topics include: Active and student-centred learning; Inclusion, well-being, and diversity in education; Sustainability and global competence development; Empowering students as co-creators and partners in teaching innovation
- Institutional Support for Teaching in a Changing World
Strengthening the structures and communities that sustain pedagogical innovation within and across universities.
Possible topics include: Teacher training and professional development; Communities of practice and peer mentoring; Institutional strategies for teaching innovation; Administrative and technical support for educational transformation.
Types of Contributions
We invite four types of contributions:
- Oral Communications: Present your innovative teaching experience, project, or research on pedagogy (15-minute presentation + 5-minute Q&A).
- Poster Presentations: Showcase innovative practices, learning activities, or collaborative projects in a visual and interactive format. Posters will be displayed throughout the conference, with dedicated discussion sessions (3-minute presentation + 3-minute Q&A).
- Workshops The workshops has to be an interactive, hands-on activity and that foster meaningful exchanges and collaborative learning experiences between the participants.
- Special Sessions: Run a Special Session on one of the conference themes. Choose 45- 60- or 90-minute length.
Submission Guidelines
For Oral Communications and Poster Presentations, authors are invited to submit an abstract of up to 500 words (excluding references) through the conference website https://eugloh-pedagogical.eu
Authors may also indicate their preferred presentation format (oral or poster); however, the final decision will be made by the Scientific Committee based on the overall programme balance. Submissions should clearly describe:
- The context and objectives of the activity or research
- The innovative or collaborative aspects
- The outcomes and lessons learned for teaching and learning
Each accepted proposal may include up to two presenters. The conference particularly encourages that the second presenter be a student or a staff member involved in teaching administration, fostering dialogue and collaboration among all actors engaged in teaching and learning.
For Workshops or Special Sessions, proposers should send their proposals by email to eugloh.pedagogical@uah.es, including a brief description of the relevance of the activity, the expected number and profile of participants, and the intended format or structure of the session.
Deadline for proposal submission is 11 January 2026 (23:59 CET). The notifications of acceptance will be sent on 9 March 2026.

The registration will be closing on 24 March 2026.
