“Let’s Talk: A Course in Intercultural Communication”, co-created by four European universities, aligns with the Council of Europe’s Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture. It offers a unique opportunity to raise intercultural awareness and sensitivity, fostering creativity in culturally diverse and interdisciplinary contexts.

The skills developed through this certificate programme are among the top 10 preferred by employers. Its primary objective is to enhance effective cross-cultural communication and collaboration through active listening, mediation, and critical thinking, thereby promoting acceptance and respect for cultural diversity.

These skills will enable students to navigate the challenges of today’s globalised and multicultural environments in both academia and the workplace.

Students who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate recognising their skills in “Mediating Communication” according to the new descriptors of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Organisation

Following an introductory session, students will be placed in small groups with peers from other participating universities. They will organise five video calls at mutually convenient times, to be completed before specified deadlines. During these calls, students will discuss various topics related to intercultural communication and collaborate on a shared project, chosen collectively. Upon completion of the five video calls, students will present their work online.

A minimum B2 level of English is required to participate in the course.
