Register now and discover how meaningful connections can support your professional journey!

Networking is often misunderstood as simply exchanging contacts, growing a LinkedIn network, or knowing the “right people”. In reality, effective networking is about building authentic professional relationships that foster learning, collaboration, and career opportunities.

Whether you are exploring career options, preparing for your first professional experience, considering a career transition, or seeking to expand your professional horizons, developing a strong network can help you access opportunities, gain valuable insights, and connect with people who inspire and support your growth.

In this interactive seminar, you will:

  • Challenge common networking myths and explore what effective networking really looks like;
  • Understand how professional networks can support career development, opportunity exploration, and career transitions;
  • Learn practical strategies to build, develop, and maintain meaningful professional relationships;
  • Explore real-life networking situations, including conferences, career fairs, professional events, and LinkedIn interactions;
  • Reflect on your own networking style and identify opportunities to strengthen your professional network;
  • Discover practical tips for online networking, personal branding, and professional communication;
  • Gain actionable strategies that you can immediately apply in both academic and professional contexts.
  • This session is designed to help you approach networking with greater confidence, authenticity, and purpose, regardless of your previous experience or career aspirations. You don't need to be a natural networker. Networking is a skill that can be learnt and developed over time.

About the EUGLOH Soft Skills Seminar Series – 3rd Edition

Academic knowledge is an important part of your career, but today’s professional environments also require us to communicate effectively, collaborate across cultures, build meaningful professional relationships, speak with confidence and navigate challenges and change.

The EUGLOH Career Network, in collaboration with the University of Porto, Lund University and the University of Szeged, is pleased to present the 3rd edition of the EUGLOH Soft Skills Seminar Series, taking place from October to December 2026.

Across five interactive online sessions, experts from the EUGLOH alliance will explore practical approaches, tools and strategies to support your personal and professional development, whether you are pursuing an academic, research or non-academic career.

Forget long lectures and theory-heavy sessions. Each seminar combines expert insights, practical examples, interactive activities and opportunities for reflection and exchange.

The sessions are designed to help you:

  • Develop skills that are relevant across academic and non-academic careers;
  • Gain practical strategies and tools you can apply in your own context;
  • Reflect on your career development and professional identity;
  • Exchange perspectives with participants from across the EUGLOH Alliance;
  • Broaden your horizons beyond your university, discipline and usual professional environment.

Who can participate?

The seminars are open to Bachelor’s and Master’s students, PhD candidates, academic staff and administrative/professional staff from EUGLOH partner universities.

Whether you are exploring career options, preparing for your next professional step, developing your professional identity or simply looking to strengthen your skills, these sessions offer an opportunity to learn, reflect and connect in an international environment.

Participation is free of charge, but registration will be required for each session.
