Networking goes far beyond simply exchanging contacts. It is about building authentic professional relationships that open doors, create opportunities, and support your career development.
In this interactive session, you will:
- Understand what networking really means – myths vs. realities
- Learn about the “hidden job market” and how networks can support career transitions
- Explore strategies to build and maintain meaningful professional relationships
- Practice networking scenarios (e.g. conferences, LinkedIn messages, career fairs) and reflect on what makes a connection authentic
- Get practical tips for LinkedIn: personal pitch, profile essentials, connecting with purpose, and online etiquette

About the EUGLOH Soft Skills Seminar Series - Build the skills that shape the future– 2nd Edition
After the success of the first edition, the EUGLOH Soft Skills Seminar Series is back.
The EUGLOH Career Network, in collaboration with the University of Porto, Lund University and University of Szeged, is pleased to launch the second edition of the EUGLOH Soft Skills Seminars — a series of interactive online sessions designed to support students in developing essential career and interpersonal skills.
In today’s rapidly evolving professional landscape, academic knowledge alone is no longer enough. Employers increasingly value transversal skills such as communication, teamwork, resilience, networking and career self-management.
Through this seminar series, students from across the EUGLOH alliance will have the opportunity to engage with international experts and peers, explore practical strategies for career development, and strengthen the skills needed to navigate diverse professional environments.
What to expect
The seminar series includes five interactive online sessions, each focusing on a key competence for career development and employability, such as:
- Networking and professional relationships
- Job interviews and negotiation skills
- Effective communication in the workplace
- Teamwork and collaboration in multicultural environments
- Emotional intelligence and resilience
Each session will combine short expert inputs, practical examples, and opportunities for interaction and reflection, creating a collaborative learning environment across the EUGLOH community.
