Why Attend a Workshop on Peer Support Programmes?

Join this workshop to unlock key strategies for successful peer support programmes and tackle common challenges with confidence. More than just insights, you’ll gain access to a dynamic network of professionals—exchanging ideas, forging collaborations, and building lasting connections that will support and inspire you as you develop your programme.

This workshop not only provides these insights but also fosters valuable networking opportunities. Building connections with professionals and practitioners in the field allows you to exchange ideas, learn from diverse perspectives, and create a supportive community. These relationships can become an ongoing resource for advice, collaboration, people exchange and inspiration as you launch, develop or refine your peer support programme.

A peer support programme is an initiative in a higher education institution (HEI) where peer students with similar backgrounds and experiences support each other through specific difficulties that may arise in the higher education (HE) environment. Thus, peer support can foster a sense of community, belonging, and empowerment among participants, leading to improved well-being as well as improved academic and/or personal outcomes. Peer support programmes are quite common in HE but are often locally designed and don´t use experiences from other peer support programmes. Therefore, a community of peer support programme practitioners would be valuable for improving existing programmes and inspire new initiatives.

Practitioners, student mentors and people interested in peer support initiatives within the EUGLOH university alliance are warmly welcome.
