The 2022 EUGLOH Annual Summit took place at the École Normale Superieure Paris-Saclay (ENS Paris-Saclay) and Physics Teaching Building (the H-bar) from 15 to 17 June 2022. Staff, students, faculty and researchers from Porto, Lund, Szeged and Munich, as well as from our new partner universities of Hamburg, Novi Sad, Tromsø¸ and Alcalá, joined their peers in Paris to share three days of networking and discussion aimed at advancing the Alliance, its mission and its goals within the core domains of EUGLOH.
More than 350 attendees were joined by over 250 virtual participants in a wide variety of sessions including panel discussions, meetings, the EUGLOH village, student pitch your start-up and talent contests and keynote speeches by renowned experts of the Alliance. 24 excellent speakers (including Vanessa Debiais-Sainton, Head of higher education unit at the European Commission, Estelle Iacona, President of Université Paris-Saclay and Ryadh Sallem, Paris 2024 Ambassador and Paralympian athlete) delivered eloquent speeches and participated in various panel discussions. EUGLOH's core domains were at the forefront of the summit, particularly when it came to the EUGLOH Village where participants could explore them in depth via one-on-one exchanges and thematic lightning talks.
To inspire co-creation of activities, programmes and courses in the future, the summit held a special session designed to bring the co-creation process to light. To highlight and further build its relationships with external stakeholders, there was also a set of sessions geared towards its private and industrial partnerships the afternoon of 16 June. These and other sessions embodied the theme of the event in the way in which they built off of the physical presence of many of the participants to look towards the future development of the Alliance. At the end of the EUGLOH Annual Summit 2022, Université Paris-Saclay had the pleasure of passing the torch to Lund University, who will host the next Annual Summit from 12 to 14 June 2023.
