EUGLOH Annual Summit 2025 hosted by the University of Porto

The European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH) is pleased to announce that the EUGLOH Annual Summit 2025 will be held from 22 to 24 October 2025 in Porto, Portugal. The event will be hosted by the University of Porto and will bring together representatives from all partner institutions of the Alliance, alongside external stakeholders, for a high-level forum dedicated to dialogue, collaboration and strategic reflection.

Since its first edition in 2021, the EUGLOH Annual Summit has become a flagship event for the Alliance, providing a platform for universities, researchers, students and partners to explore common challenges and opportunities while strengthening cooperation across borders.

This year’s edition of the Annual Summit will be held under the motto “From Vision to Impact: European Universities Shaping EU Innovation and Competitiveness” and will reflect on the vital role of European Universities in driving innovation and competitiveness through transnational cooperation in education, research and knowledge transfer.

The programme will open on Wednesday, 22 October, with internal working sessions reserved for the Governing Bodies, the International Student Board, the Operational Bodies and an EUGLOH Co-Creation Workshop.

On Thursday, 23 October, the Summit will welcome all participants with an official Opening Ceremony followed by keynote speeches and a series of thematic parallel sessions. These will include a Workshop on Pedagogical Innovation: Best Practices Showcase, Shaping Global Health through Student Involvement in Research & Innovation and Knowledge Transfer in EUGLOH and Unlocking its Potential. The afternoon will feature a roundtable entitled Future Today: Union of Skills for Employability and Career Networks and the day will conclude with the official EUGLOH Annual Summit 2025 Dinner, offering a unique opportunity for networking.

The final day, Friday, 24 October, will feature a poster session from the EUGLOH Annual Student Research Conference and the plenary session Future-Proofing Higher Education: Adapting Skills and Knowledge to the AI Era. Mónica Ferro, Director of the United Nations Population Fund’s (UNFPA) London Representation Office, will be participating as keynote speaker in the closing session and, afterwards, the host of the next Annual Summit will be announced.

Beyond the formal programme, the Annual Summit will also provide participants with the unique opportunity to experience Porto’s rich history, vibrant culture and distinctive traditions. From its UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic centre to its renowned gastronomy and hospitality, Porto offers an inspiring backdrop that will enrich the Annual Summit experience. By fostering informal exchanges and shared cultural moments, the event will create an environment that strengthens professional networks while promoting intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding among participants from across Europe.

To support participants in preparing for and engaging with the event, the official EUGLOH Annual Summit 2025 website has been launched as the central source of information about this year’s edition. The platform provides key details on the programme, speakers, highlights and practical arrangements, and will continue to grow with new content and updates as the event approaches. Participants are encouraged to visit the website regularly for the latest news and announcements.
