EUGLOH Secretary-General Emily Helmeid Re-elected as Vice-Chair of FOREU4ALL

The reappointment was confirmed during the FOREU4ALL General Forum meeting held on 9 February 2026, where FOREU4ALL elected its Forum Board for the next one-year term. Helmeid will continue serving alongside Chair Beatrix Busse (EUniWell) and newly appointed Vice-Chair Fernando Perez-Peña (SEA-EU), as well as the permanent coordinators Olga Wessels (ECIU) and Ludovic Thilly (EC2U).

In her capacity as Vice-Chair, Helmeid represents FOREU4ALL externally and provides strategic orientation in cooperation with her fellow board members as well as the coordination team of the Community of Practice. 

Her re-election as Vice-Chair of FOREU4ALL underscores both her individual leadership and EUGLOH’s active engagement in shaping the future of transnational higher education in Europe. In response to her re-election, Helmeid expressed her appreciation of the trust given to her personally and her renewed vow to work on behalf of all 65 alliances and 8 seals of excellence to ensure that their collective voice shapes the Community of Practice now and in the future:

"I can't overstate how unique FOREU4ALL is when it comes to the level of collaboration and openness we share. We recognise that we are all working towards the same ends. A stronger European higher education space, more engaged citizens, solutions to societal issues that affect us all and resilience in the face of constant change. The decision to entrust me with a second mandate indicates the need for continuity in our representation of all alliances before the Commission, member states and other key higher education stakeholder organisations. It is not my individual voice here that matters as much as it is my capacity to represent our shared voice. I'm truly honoured to have the opportunity to fulfil that responsibility." 

In addition to the Chair and Vice-Chairs, FOREU4ALL elected the other 12 Forum Board members, representatives from the alliances UNITA, Unite!, CIVICA, Arqus, NEOLAiA, ACE2EU, YUFE, EUTOPIA, ERUA, E3UDRES2, FORTHEM and CIVIS. The Forum Board is the elected representation of the full General Forum, which is comprised of all 65 European Universities alliances as well as all 8 Seals of Excellence holders.
