Global Health Takes Centre Stage at LMU Munich: A Week of Workshops & Innovation

LMU Munich was recently at the forefront of global health with the successful organisation of the Global Health Days and two impactful workshops. Focused on shaping a healthier future for all, the workshops "Insights into Global Health" and "Communicating Global Health" ran concurrently alongside the event. The "Insights into Global Health" workshop featured a poster session, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and addressing complex global health challenges. Meanwhile, the "Communicating Global Health" seminar, held from 24th to 26th March, included workshops, talks, and group presentations, all centred around advancing global health priorities.

The Global Health Days took place on the 24th and the 25th of March at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU). This two-day eventwas a great success, leaving us with invaluable insights and a renewed commitment to shaping the future of global health.

The event kicked off with thought-provoking discussions on the impact of aging populations, technological advancements, and the ongoing environmental changes shaping global health. EUGLOH was honored by the participation of expert speakers and thought leaders from seven universities across the network: LMU Munich, Lund University, Universidade do Porto, University of Szeged, University of Hamburg, Universidad de Alcalá, and Université Paris-Saclay. Attendees also had the chance to visit a variety of booths, including a dedicated EUGLOH booth. These booths highlight our shared commitment to foster international collaboration and networking.

Key discussions throughout the day included:

  1. Aging Populations & Healthcare Systems
  2. Tech for Health: The Digital Revolution
  3. Environmental Health & Climate Change
  4. Global Health Collaboration & Innovation

On the 25th of March, LMU Munich hosted an inspiring poster session that gave students and researchers an opportunity to present their work and showcase the importance of global health. From climate change to sustainable health systems, the posters represented the innovative solutions that are shaping the future of healthcare.

The second day also focused on hands-on workshops, where participants developed innovative strategies to address global health challenges. Topics such as pandemic preparedness, mental health in a digital world, and sustainable health practices took centre stage, providing a platform for actionable solutions in diverse settings.

This event was more than just a series of talks—it was an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and drive meaningful action towards a healthier, more sustainable future for all.

We are proud to have participated in such a dynamic, impactful event and are excited to continue the conversation throughout our Healthy Spring Campaign. Here's to advancing global health, one step at a time.
