"At its core, EUGLOH is about working together across borders and cultures, while also building experiences, relationships, and moments that go further than just work."

EUGLOH [you·glow] – Faces behind the Alliance:

Introducing László Maróti, EUGLOH Work Package 3 Manager from the University of Szeged. WP3 focuses on Research-based learning. His role involves developing and coordinating collaborative activities across the Alliance, including initiatives such as the Annual Student Research Conference, seasonal schools, thematic workshops and innovation programmes. He works closely with academics and administrative partners to strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation and support student engagement in research and innovation across the Alliance.

How has being part of EUGLOH influenced your personal and/or professional growth?

Being part of EUGLOH has significantly broadened my professional perspective. It has given me the opportunity to collaborate closely with diverse international partners, understand different institutional approaches and work in a highly dynamic environment. It has also strengthened my skills in project development, coordination and strategic thinking, while reinforcing the value of student-centred and challenge-based learning models in higher education.

What has been your favourite experience or moment within EUGLOH so far?

One of my favourite moments was the Annual Summit dinner in Szeged. What made it truly memorable was that after the dinner, everyone ended up dancing together, including leaders, top researchers, students and colleagues. It created an incredible atmosphere that reflected the real spirit of EUGLOH. It felt like a genuine celebration of our shared work and collaboration, going far beyond formal meetings and structures.

What is your favourite EUGLOH initiative?

My favourite initiatives are the Annual Student Research Conference and the Joint Innovation Challenges. Both activities strongly reflect what EUGLOH stands for by bringing together student engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration in a meaningful way. They provide opportunities to work on real-world challenges, while also creating tangible impact through both scientific exploration and innovative solutions.

From your perspective, why is EUGLOH important?

EUGLOH is important because it creates real international connections between institutions, areas, and people. It opens up opportunities for students and staff to learn, collaborate, and think beyond their own environments. At its core, it’s about working together across borders and cultures, while also building experiences, relationships, and moments that go further than just work.
