The EUGLOH Alliance is promoting a hands-on webinar series on entrepreneurial mindset, titled “Entrepreneurial Meet-Up”.

On the 26th of October, at 17h00 CEST, U.Porto Innovation Office’s (UPIN) will promote a session within the Entrepreneurial Meet-up series, opened to EUGLOH students on “How to protect your ideas?”, on the topic of Intellectual Property Rights (IP).

In addition to a short institutional presentation of the work U.Porto Innovation develops, the event will include “mini consulting sessions”, in matters related to IP rights and totally focused on the participants' academic projects, held over parallel meetings, so to advise interested students. Additionally, participants will have to opportunity to meet and learn from a guest speaker - Miguel Mascarenhas from Digest Aid - who will share his experience about the importance of IP for your entrepreneurial projects.

17h00 – Welcome and Institutional Presentation by U.Porto Innovation; 17h05 – Presentation by Miguel Mascarenhas (DigestAID) on the importance of IP in entrepreneurial projects; 17h25 – Discussions and advisory sessions in break-out rooms; 17h40 – Conclusions and presentation of upcoming events.

MEET THE SPEAKER:

(Miguel Mascarenhas’ short bio)

Miguel Mascarenhas is an MD (Gastroenterologist), mainly focused on big data’s many challenges and opportunities in digestive healthcare. Founder of two biotech startups, both focused on levering clinical and genomic data, powered by Deep Learning and Blockchain innovations.

Founder and coordinator of Hospital São João’s Gastroenterology Precision Medicine unit.

He is also the lead inventor of 6 academic patent-pending AI technologies in different fields of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (Capsule Endoscopy, Colon Capsule Endoscopy, Crohn’s Capsule Endoscopy, Device-Assisted Enteroscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound, and Cholangioscopy).
