Background

Imagine with us the future EUGLOH app! How should this app work? What features should it contain? Should it give information about EUGLOH activities, help connecting students and staff from all 5 campuses, or even give you the opportunity to virtually visit all 5 campus?

A group of students from Université Paris-Saclay thought about how an EUGLOH app could work during last semester: this workshop will present the results from the software-engineering project held in the third year of the computer-science programme at the faculty of sciences at Université Paris-Saclay. The students have been organised in two groups — one targeting at the development of a web-service for a Médiathèque, the other one for the implementation of an App for EUGLOH giving access to specific information on the EUGLOH website and its services.

Workshop Structure

The workshop will consist of three parts: a) a small scientific programme outlining the security aspects of web-services and mobile apps b) a poster-session. / tool-demo session where the different teams of the 3rd year project present their work, and c) a podiums discussion over the potential of web-applications and mobile-apps for EUGLOH.

Goals and methods of the EUGLOH App workshop

The EUGLOH App workshop took place on the 27th May 2021. It aimed to enable students and staff to learn how an App is developed; to list the different tools needed and expected for an EUGLOH App. This was achieved through three parts: a small scientific programme outlining the security aspects of web-services and mobile apps; a poster-session/ tool-demo session where the different teams of the 3rd year project presented their work, and podium discussions over the potential of web-applications and mobile-apps for EUGLOH.
